The Last Dinner Party have drawn the curtain on the From The Pyre era with the release of ‘Knocking At The Sky’, a new standalone single featured on the digital deluxe edition of their acclaimed second album, available now.
Debuted live during the final night of the band’s sold-out Brixton Academy run in late 2025, Knocking At The Sky serves as the closing chapter to the theatrical world the group constructed across From The Pyre. The song turns its attention to Los Angeles, reimagining the city as a modern fairy tale populated by larger-than-life characters chasing their own myths and ambitions.
Recorded with producer Animesh Raval at London’s Church Studios, the track arrives alongside a cinematic music video directed by Sinclair Bryant. Paying homage to Hollywood noir, cult horror films and the irreverent world of filmmaker John Waters, the visual extends the band’s flair for dramatic storytelling beyond the music itself.
The deluxe edition also includes recent releases ‘Big Dog’ and its spoken-word companion ‘Come All You Beasts’, expanding on an album that has carried the band through sold-out headline tours across the UK, Europe and North America.
There is little sign of The Last Dinner Party slowing down. Following a packed summer festival schedule that includes Isle of Wight, TRNSMT, Latitude, Wilderness and a performance alongside Wolf Alice at Finsbury Park, the band will head back to the United States for an arena tour supporting Sombr before joining Olivia Rodrigo on her sold-out The Unravelled Tour across Los Angeles and New York in early 2027.
Away from the stage, the band have continued to expand their community initiatives. Their Market Place project recently showcased local artists in Brooklyn, while their Ribbons for Provisions campaign has raised significant funds for food banks across the UK, Europe and the United States, reflecting an ongoing commitment to supporting local communities alongside their rapidly growing career.
“Knocking at the Sky is the final tale from The Pyre. After creating an album about storytelling and worldbuilding we thought it apt to end this act with a story set in the sinister mythworld itself: Los Angeles. Hollywood is the ultimate fairytale; the stakes are at surreal heights, the landscape is unruly and plastic and its populated with a cast of Grimm characters all striving and struggling at the centre of their own hero’s journey.”
