South London experimental artist GLOWS returned with his new single ”Easy“ last month via Slow Dance, and is now unveiling the accompanying music video.
A perfect distillation of the “post-club, bedroom-pop” sound he has been honing since emerging on the scene with PERLA back in 2018, the charm of “Easy” stems from its almost minimalistic structure – building up its instrumentation but not overloading the listener with a barrage of different ideas.
It’s the pure restraint GLOWS has fashioned which marks it out as a remarkable piece of late-night listening.
“Easy” is the first of a series of releases that will be appearing throughout the first half of 2020 and sees GLOWS in more upbeat territory than before; the agitated drums and glitchy synths have shedded some of the starkness, but he keeps the vital stylistic darkness that makes his music so engrossing.
