Sandancer, the alias of musician Howard Whiddett, shares the hypnotic, intense and experimental new electronic offering, ‘Run Till I’m Breathless.’

Following his impressive debut single ‘Radial’, Sandancer delivers another immersive synth heavy soundcape packing textural layers of analogue synth, tight beats and processed vocal cuts.

Introspective, dynamic, haunting and atmospheric, the track showcases the elements of Lapalux and Jamie XX which give Sandancers music such a fluorescent, intoxicating quality. Danceable wirth it’s thudding kick and deep sub bass, yet reflective and subtle with it’s melancholic tone, the track balances it’s elements beautifully.

Speaking about the single, Sandancer explains: “The track is an expression of pushing yourself to the limit despite ongoing struggle, hence the title. I’ve always had in mind what Madlib did with his own Vocals on his Quasimoto Project, so I played a lot with the pitching of my voice on this track. The staggered phrasing of the line ‘I just run till I’m breathless’ exacerbates that feeling that someone is trying to catch their breath. I wanted to express an idea of resilience against an inner struggle by contrasting the vocal with a lot of heavy bass to represent some inner strength. It has a much darker feel than the other tracks on my EP and it’s for sure one to be played loud.”

Qtier’s notable tracks, including “Still” and “Set Me On,” have amassed over 11 million global streams, earning support from renowned radio personalities such as Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Lauren Laverne, Tom Robinson, and Andrew Wetherall. With a distinct sound and a growing fan base, Qtier’s success serves as a testament to Whiddett’s talent and creative vision.

In 2017, Whiddett took on an exciting opportunity as a member of Jamiroquai, joining shortly after the release of their album “Automaton.” Known for his expertise in live electronics, with a specialization in Ableton Live, Whiddett was even affectionately nicknamed “The Ableton Wizard” by Jamiroquai’s lead singer, Jay Kay. His live performances with the group have taken him to stages around the world, including notable appearances at renowned festivals like Coachella. Whiddett has also had the privilege of sharing the stage with acclaimed rap artist Snoop Dogg. Additionally, he has showcased his skills as a DJ, providing live vocal effects for singer-songwriter and producer Róisín Murphy.

Sandancer’s latest offering, “Run Till I’m Breathless,” is a testament to his talent as a musician and his ability to push boundaries and create captivating soundscapes.
