Not sure what they’re putting in the water in Essex, but Colchester, previously only really known for Blur, now have two of the most exciting young bands currently on the circuit. As well as The Meffs, Pet Needs have also been catching the ears of the US market, having toured extensively last year with Frank Turner and then going back for their own headline dates. UK tour supports for Frank Turner and more recently, The Lottery Winners, have also made sure that their home fanbase has been growing too. Recently making their UK festival debut at Bearded Theory and now lined up to make their Rebellion debut, 2023 is shaping up to be a very memorable year.

Whilst not exactly ramma-lamma 3 chord thrash street punk, their hi-energy shows have been wowing fans everywhere, with their brand of thoughtful pop-punk rock crossover. I’m reminded of late 90s Brit Rockers Symposium and A in the way they approach their sound.
