Feel-good soundscapes with real, thoughtful lyricism and brilliantly thought out, melodic creativity and choruses to die for - the new EP is excellent, the bands best work to date.

Cassia continue with their seamlessly never ending string of infectious, rhythmic indie-pop bangers, the trio release their brilliant new 5 track EP ‘Home Soon…’

Released hot off the heels of ‘Circular Motion’ which was named BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record, the new EP shines with a sense of vibrancy and a band who truly know and are comfortable in their musical identity. Colourful, infectious, danceable and delectably catchy, the release has all the hallmarks of a band on the brink of fame on a worldwide scale.

From the melancholic lead vocals and swaying vibes of ‘Find My Way Around’, to the neo-soul undertones of ‘Circular Motion’, to more bedroom-pop toned ‘whatstheuse’ the EP brilliantly balances musical authenticity, displaying a range of approaches, intricate instrumentation but crucially always sounding exactly like Cassia.

Their sound is so recognisable and that is what really striking about the EP. There’s elements of Jungle, elements of Jamiroquai, moments which sound more like some of the more poppy Mura-Masa and yet its none of those things, it’s Cassia, and it’s brilliant. Catchy, funky, fun and yet rooted in melancholic emotion and relatable, heartfelt songwriting.

Talking about the EP, the band explain: “This latest batch of songs took us on a bit of a journey out of our usual surroundings; each song was written in a different place on the globe some of them with good friends of ours and we felt that gave us a new lease of life creatively. I think you can really hear the energy captured in the room of tracks like circular motion, and in songs like gamma rays I can almost hear the whirring of the planes engine in the background when listening to it. We didn’t have an idea going into this EP of any sort of lyrical theme however as we finished more and more tracks, one started to naturally appear. Summed up the EP is based around life cycles. I feel that l always struggle to cope with chapters drawing to a natural close because it forces me to change what is comfortable, it is just a natural response of mine and so these songs act as an outlet for me, some tracks reminded me of the positive outcomes that come off the back of change, whilst some songs were jotted down during a painful switch of reality.”
