Exclusive: Wassailer records Foreplay live in session for Backseat Mafia

Taken from his rather extraordinary debut album ‘I, the bastard’, out now via Empty Street Records, Wassailer, aka Will Serfass, agreed to record the albums opening track Foreplay live in session for Backseat Mafia.

Whereas on the album the track is a glitchy, synth led track that approaches electronic soul, in the hands of Serfass and his piano, it becomes something of an emotive torch song, his vocal astounding as it rises to the up echelons of his falsetto, and contrasting it with these poetic, half spoken passages.

I, the bastard is ambitious album that mixes up sampling, with bass, electronic and shades of indie to provide something that can peek your interest with its melodies and danceable beats, and keep hold of you with its keenly observed stories and lines. Dive in, here
