Having graced the music world with their newest single ‘Angel’, the Swedish duo play their first UK show in three years, the stage of Halifax’s Piece Hall, a truly impeccable venue I might add having been my first ever visit.

The scene was set, the atmosphere was that of a festival: long bars, food trucks and merchandise tents.

The night began with CMAT and her wonderful band. After failing to see her during Declan McKenna’s tour on two occasions, I wasn’t taking any chances on this one. She played an incredible set with immense energy and I’m finally glad I managed to experience one of her sets! Definitely worth seeing if you have the chance!

Rain was pouring, and I was incredibly underdressed. I should have worn a coat… or at least a little more than a collared button up shirt.

The Swedish folk duo, led by sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, emerge from the back of the stage.

Opening with ‘King of the World’ from the sophomore album ‘The Lion’s Roar’ it was bound to be a great night! Playing fan favourites all through the evening. ‘Emmylou’ and the title track of said sophomore album were my personal favourites having been a huge fan of the duo for years!

Much to the audience’s surprise, the duo performed a cover of ‘Boyfriends’ by Harry Styles from the new album ‘Harry’s House’.

The encore consisted of the band’s newest single ‘Angel’, which was followed by ‘MasterPretender’ and their biggest hit ‘My Silver Lining’.

The band revealed during the evening that a new album has been recorded and now fans are currently awaiting the announcement of their fifth studio album!
