News: As bdrmm blow out the first birthday candle on the release of ‘Bedroom’ there’s a series of celebratory events, starting tonight

WITH East Yorkshire’s shoegaze princes bdrmm blowing out the candle on the first birthday cake of their cracking debut album, Bedroom, the band have lined up a week of events to celebrate that milestone (what, already, a year, really?)

When Bedroom hit the shelves on July 3rd last year, we noted that its songs were “warm and shimmering and sunset-coloured” with “adept understanding of the form”; and said of that absolute stunner, “A Reason To Celebrate”, that it’s ” …a bona fide shoegaze classic of the first order.” I’ll die on that hill. It’s right up there with the best.

Celebrations kick off tonight with a Rough Trade Transmissions live session, recorded at Eiger Studios in Leeds and features the world premiere of two brand new songs. Hey, whoah. Tune in to Rough Trade’s Instagram TV tonight from 6pm, British Summer Time.

That’s followed tomorrow, July 1, by with a special two-hour mix of tunes that the band’sput together for Soho Radio; tune into to the NYC + Culture channel from 4pm. Once that’s finished, head over to Twitter where bdrmm will be hosting the after-work drinks for The Social from 6pm, with tunes and good times.

The week rounds off with two special socially-distanced shows at the Adelphi, Hull, this Sunday, July 4th, at which they’ll be playing the album in full at 5pm and 8pm. Of course, both shows have sold out, Je suis désolé, but fingers crossed, there’s more dates to come, with a series of festivals through the summer, as follows:

July 22nd to 25th, Latitude, Suffolk (tickets);
August 7th and 8th, Get Together, Sheffield (tickets);
September 2nd to 5th, End Of The Road, Dorset (tickets);
September 4th, Manchester Psych Fest (tickets), and
October 1st, Sound City, Ipswich (tickets).

bdrmm are also heading out on their own headline tour in October; there’s still a few tickets left for some dates. Check the tour below; for more information and links click through here.
