News: Atticus Kane Releases New Album ‘News From Delphi’

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Atticus Kane has entered a bold new chapter with the release of News From Delphi, a twelve-track collection that broadens both his musical palette and artistic vision. Blending alternative folk-pop with reflective singer-songwriter storytelling, the album explores the complexities of relationships, modern anxieties, and the enduring search for meaning in an increasingly uncertain world.

Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, before moving to the United States as a teenager, Kane’s creative identity has long been shaped by living between cultures. While he spent years building a successful career in music production, studio work and sonic branding, it was during the isolation of the pandemic that he rediscovered his passion for songwriting, laying the foundations for an increasingly acclaimed body of solo work.

With News From Delphi, however, Kane embraces collaboration on a scale unlike anything in his previous releases. Having traditionally written, performed and produced almost every aspect of his music alone, the new record sees him working closely with producers and musicians Lucas Murray and Simon Thomas George, resulting in a richer, more cinematic sound.

“Because I was collaborating with Simon and Lucas, the process for this album was quite different from my previous ones, where I worked on them solo,” Kane explains. “I sent them about 20 songs, some new and some older, and together we narrowed them down to the 12 that made it on the album. They immediately understood the vision and helped refine the production in ways I couldn’t have achieved alone.”

That shared creative process has transformed Kane’s intimate songwriting into an expansive listening experience. Throughout the record, delicate folk melodies intertwine with alternative rock textures, thoughtful pop sensibilities and understated orchestration, creating an atmosphere that feels both deeply personal and quietly cinematic.

One of the album’s most distinctive sonic signatures is its prominent use of pedal steel guitar. Rather than leaning into the instrument’s traditional country roots, Kane reimagines its role, using its expressive voice to add layers of warmth, melancholy and dreamlike ambience.

“The use of the pedal steel in particular was important to me,” he says. “It’s such a beautiful and versatile instrument, and I wanted to feature it in a unique way that feels different from how most people associate it with country music.”

The approach reflects the album’s broader philosophy of drawing from familiar influences while presenting them through a contemporary lens. Inspired in part by records Kane loved growing up in Hungary, News From Delphi balances nostalgia with modern production, creating a sound that feels timeless rather than retro.

At the heart of the record is focus track ‘Morning Blue’, an ethereal meditation on transition, vulnerability and hope. Built around shimmering instrumentation and graceful melodic flourishes, the song captures those quiet moments that exist between certainty and change. It serves as the emotional centrepiece of the album, demonstrating Kane’s gift for transforming deeply personal reflections into stories that resonate far beyond his own experiences.

Elsewhere, songs including ‘Burned By You’, ‘Love Me Not’, ‘Take You Off My Mind’, and ‘Help Me Grow’ navigate heartbreak, healing and emotional growth with honesty and restraint. Meanwhile, tracks such as ‘Electric Collisions’ and ‘Ode To Minerva’ expand the conversation beyond individual relationships, examining contemporary life, collective uncertainty and humanity’s place within an ever-changing world.

The album’s title, News From Delphi, draws inspiration from the ancient Greek sanctuary renowned for prophecy and introspection. As a metaphor, it reflects the album’s central themes: the messages we receive from the world around us, the meaning we assign to them, and the personal truths we uncover along the way.

Richly textured yet emotionally intimate, News From Delphi represents a significant artistic evolution for Kane. It is an album that rewards careful listening, inviting audiences to slow down, embrace ambiguity and discover moments of beauty amid uncertainty.

“It’s been a great joy to share these songs and see others connecting with them,” Kane says. “That’s ultimately what music is about for me.”

With News From Delphi, Atticus Kane delivers his most accomplished and expansive work to date – an emotionally resonant collection that seamlessly bridges personal experience with universal reflection, confirming his place as one of alternative folk-pop’s most thoughtful emerging voices.
