Zeano, the new solo outlet from Dean Hanson of Ball Park Music, has released debut album Window Seat, Always, a record built from fragments that had been sitting unfinished for years. Written across voice memos and late-night sessions, the album brings those ideas into a more defined space, shaped during brief windows of time between an intense touring schedule.
That context matters. 2025 saw Ball Park Music reach a new peak, with Like Love debuting at No.1 on the ARIA charts and a run of national and international shows following. Window Seat, Always was made alongside that momentum, recorded in just ten scattered days in Brisbane with Tim Hart. The result doesn’t carry the scale of Hanson’s primary band. It pulls in the opposite direction. Where Ball Park Music tends toward outward expression, Zeano leans inward, tracking smaller, more personal moments tied to love, loss and routine.
Focus track One More Day frames that approach clearly. Written around the idea of limited time, it moves away from abstraction and toward something more direct, built from a simple premise rather than a layered narrative. It reflects the album’s broader intention, not to construct a concept, but to document a series of moments as they occurred.
The title Window Seat, Always reflects Hanson’s perspective across the record. It suggests observation rather than participation, a position that carries through both lyrically and musically. That extends into the visual side of the project as well, with Hanson handling artwork and accompanying material, building a consistent framework around the release.
