Suffolk songwriter Bessie Turner shares her new mixtape Arrabbiatta via her own Good Shout Records. This follows her EP Themed Nights which was self-released in December 2021.

Lead single ‘It Was Nothing’ was playlisted by BBC Radio6 Music. It’s followed on the mixtape by ‘JUJU’. It’s a brooding track, ruminating on the non-linear emotional journey around making tough decisions. As Bessie herself explains:
“I wrote the track when I was trying to navigate myself through a tricky situation, and I was feeling quite alone but with that space and loneliness I felt really quite free. It’s about bad vibes, good vibes, all the feelings really. Disappointments, anger, feeling strong, feeling like you might begetting somewhere, feeling like dancing, feeling like everything is going to shit.

To me its biggest theme is trust and boundaries but that might be different for the listener. I like people to make their own interpretations of my songs, it’s always so interesting to see what it means to ears that aren’t mine.”

Bessie will be playing at The Victorious Festival at Southsea on 28 August.
