LIFESTYLES OF THE SICK & DANGEROUS LP // OUT NOW

UK HEADLINE TOUR // SEPTEMBER 2022

Finnish post-hardcore, violent pop collective BLIND CHANNEL have released their new brand-new album LIFESTYLES OF THE SICK & DANGEROUS via Century Media Records. The album is available here

Regarding the new album, the band say, “This album is the soundtrack to the craziest years of our lives. We wrote and produced the songs ourselves alongside Joonas Parkkonen, Dan Lancaster and Ted Jensen, who gave the final touch to a rock album unlike anything you’ve heard before. We are proud, hyped, and excited about this album.”

A record where gargantuan riffs meet frenetic rap while synths and huge pop hooks run wild, it’s an album to start riots and singalongs in equal measure. LIFESTYLES OF THE SICK & DANGEROUS is a mighty totem capturing a pivotal moment for one of the biggest rock bands to come out of Finland.

Already stacked with huge hits, including the previously released multi-million streamed and award-winning singles ‘Bad Idea’, ‘Dark Side’, ‘Balboa’ and ‘We Are No Saints’ the band are poised to continue their stratospheric rise with this acclaimed new record, having already been championed by the likes of Rock Sound – who featured the band as their cover stars – Metal Hammer, Kerrang and many more. This month sees BLIND CHANNEL play a number of high-profile festivals in their homeland, including a number of headline slots, before hitting the road for a full European headline tour – taking in Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland – which hits the UK in September.

“Rohkea rokan syö” or, to loosely translate this Finnish saying, “fortune favours the brave”, the band have focussed intently on their aim to take their infectiously ferocious nu-metal outside of Finland’s linguistic restrictions and this bravery is engrained within.

Furiously fighting their way into the worldwide mainstream, the six-piece have always embraced their influences, from nu-metal iconoclasts to pop and hip-hop behemoths. That’s the key to their draw; they’re only interested in staying true to themselves while studiously searching for the keys to unlock the doors of success.

BLIND CHANNEL knew that they had something to process into their music. Not only the “modern-day misery” plaguing the world, as singer Joel puts it, but also proving that they could deliver more than the crowd-pleasing anthem of Dark Side. LIFESTYLES OF THE SICK & DANGEROUS is a lashing, brutal, bravado, sincere and swagger-filled depiction of their lives, backed by their trademark and unforgiving “violent pop music”. As well as a nodding homage to the Good Charlotte track Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous, it’s most importantly a statement of intent and an album proving to be both a huge success and a pivotal moment for the band.

BLIND CHANNEL were the most successful artist at the recent 2022 Finnish Grammy Awards where they received six awards including two for Dark Side (Song Of The Year and Most Streamed Song) and were also awarded Band Of The Year, Artist Of The Year (by public vote), Rock Band Of The Year and the Export Award – the latter testament to their rapidly rising international profile having spent almost the entirety of this year on the road throughout the US, the UK and Europe.
