Behind the evocative name Bōnd Of Endless Tree is Thiago Tolentino, a singer, songwriter, and producer originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, now living in Los Angeles. Creating a distinctive multifaceted sound that pairs its blend of electronics and guitars with introspective, deeply personal lyricism, the result is at times verging on emo rock and others firmly in the realms of pop. For Thiago, writing for Bōnd Of Endless Tree is not just about making music—it’s his way of navigating life’s complexities and sharing meaning with others.
His latest release, ‘Drop’ marks Bōnd Of Endless Tree’s third single release to date. Reflecting on its creation, Thiago recalls the initial excitement of the song’s early beginnings. “I remember starting to write this song in my bedroom at my parents’ house, thinking, ‘Wow, this is awesome!’ Years later, I tried to produce it using the same original idea. When I finished the demo, I thought, ‘Man, this actually sucks.’ But I knew I had the core, I knew what I wanted to talk about and it was important to me.”
Despite feeling disheartened by the demo, Thiago didn’t give up. Instead, he spent time rearranging and nurturing the song, allowing it to evolve while remaining true to its essence. “I’m glad I respected the time necessary to reach the final result,” he says. Now fully realised, ‘Drop’ showcases his artistic growth and commitment to authenticity, blending intimate vulnerability and a strikingly unique sonic pallet to great effect.
