Caroline Rose is heading back to Australia this November, squeezing in two intimate solo shows after an expansive North American run supporting Modest Mouse.
The US singer-songwriter and producer will play Sydney’s Lansdowne Hotel and Melbourne’s Smith St Hotel, giving Australian audiences their first chance to hear material from the new album live. Recent tracks ‘Chow Mein’ and fan favourite ‘Yip Yip Yow’ will be joined by two new releases, ‘Calm’ and ‘Hello Again, Jim’.
Rose has never been particularly interested in staying in one musical lane. Early folk and country influences gave way to the sharp-edged pop-rock of 2018’s ‘Loner’, followed by ‘Superstar’ in 2020 and the more introspective ‘The Art of Forgetting’ in 2023. Along the way, psychobilly, shoegaze, electronic music and alt-country have all found their way into the mix.
That restless streak remains one of Rose’s strongest calling cards. After playing much bigger rooms with Modest Mouse across North America, these two Australian dates bring things right back down to close quarters.
