The Army, The Navy are heading back to Australia in May 2027, and this time they’re going bigger. After selling out their debut visit in 2025, the Los Angeles indie-pop duo return with ‘The Fake Brave Tour’, taking in five cities across the country.
The run includes their first shows in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, alongside upgraded rooms in Sydney and Melbourne. It follows a hectic stretch for the pair, including Lollapalooza and a 25-date North American headline tour, after their earlier ‘Gentle Hellraiser’ run sold out shows across the US.
At the centre of the tour is debut album ‘Fake Brave Life’, released in June. Recorded between Athens and New York, the record expands the pair’s tightly woven harmonies with session musicians and a string quartet, while holding onto the intimacy that has defined their songwriting from the beginning.
The Army, The Navy have known each other for most of their lives but became close while studying songwriting in New Orleans. Now living together in Los Angeles, they still collect verses in a clothbound notebook they call ‘the Bible’, turning the private language of a long friendship into songs about risk, uncertainty and finding the nerve to put yourself out there.
By the time they reach Australia next May, ‘Fake Brave Life’ will have spent months being tested on stages across North America. After the sell-out reception last time around, The Army, The Navy’s second Australian visit feels less like an introduction and more like the next jump.
