The wait is almost over. After years away from Australian stages, Dave’s long-awaited return is finally within touching distance, with the British rapper set to kick off his national arena tour in Brisbane on June 18.
Presented by Live Nation, Secret Sounds and triple j, the run marks Dave’s first headline tour since the release of his Mercury Prize-winning second album We’re All Alone in This Together in 2021. Beginning at Brisbane Entertainment Centre before heading to Sydney, Melbourne and concluding in Perth on June 27, the tour gives Australian audiences their first opportunity in years to witness one of rap’s most compelling voices in a headline setting.
Few artists have reshaped British rap quite like Dave. Since emerging with a blend of incisive social commentary, introspective lyricism and cinematic production, the London artist has become one of the genre’s defining figures. His ability to move effortlessly between deeply personal reflections and broader examinations of race, class and identity has elevated him far beyond conventional rap stardom.
The forthcoming shows arrive in the wake of The Boy Who Played the Harp, his first new project since 2023. That same year, Dave and Central Cee’s blockbuster collaboration ‘Sprinter’ rewrote the record books, becoming the longest-running number one rap single in UK chart history. It followed the success of ‘Starlight’, which had already established Dave as the first sole writer and producer to top the UK charts in eight years.
While chart records have become commonplace, it is Dave’s reputation as a live performer that has elevated him into the upper echelon of modern rap. Combining sharp lyricism with undeniable stage presence, his shows have consistently demonstrated why he remains one of the most respected artists of his generation.
