DICE are heading back out across Australia with a national tour supporting their second album I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View – out 31 July. Over the last few years, the Perth four-piece have moved from local indie circuit regulars into a band capable of filling larger rooms both at home and overseas, building a following through relentless touring and a run of songs that seem engineered for late-night drives and festival crowds.
Beginning in Adelaide this August before moving through capital cities and regional stops around the country, the tour arrives alongside a noticeable shift in the band’s sound. Where debut album Midnight Zoo leaned into something rougher and more restless, the new record opens things up. There’s more space, more light and a stronger sense of confidence running through it, without losing the immediacy that made tracks like ‘Chasing Hearts’, ‘Alter Ego’ and ‘Hourglass’ connect so quickly in the first place.
The tour arrives alongside new single ‘Loose Change’, a euphoric blast of guitar-pop that captures the same restless energy that has made DICE such a live draw. Built from a voice note before being refined in Los Angeles with G Flip and producer Joe Chiccarelli, the track feels engineered for crowded rooms and arms-in-the-air singalongs. It also hints at the broader direction of I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View, an album that swaps some of the grit of Midnight Zoo for something brighter, more expansive and far more self-reflective.
