News: HAIVE Unveils Haunting New Single ‘Bathtub’

Rising Dark Pop artist HAIVE releases the new single ‘Bathtub’, a moving yet empowering exploration of trauma, resilience, and self-reclamation. The track, released this week, showcases HAIVE’s ability to merge raw emotional storytelling with cinematic, genre-bending production ultimately resulting in a breathtaking electronic soundscape comparable to FKA Twigs.

Opening as a fragile, intimate ballad, ‘Bathtub’ gradually transforms into a techno-driven crescendo, mirroring the emotional journey from numbness and isolation to anger and reclamation. HAIVE describes the song as an unflinching look at the aftermath of sexual abuse: “I wanted to make something that doesn’t shy away from pain. The song moves through vulnerability and ends in rage — not destruction, but empowerment.”

Musically, the single highlights HAIVE’s signature Dark Pop / Midtempo sound, drawing comparisons to the intricate production of Skrillex and Rezz while carrying the vocal intimacy reminiscent of Billie Eilish. Every element of ‘Bathtub’ is meticulously crafted, from the low-end grooves to the ethereal textures, creating a listening experience that demands attention and emotional engagement.

HAIVE’s evolving sound strikes a balance between electronic intensity and emotional honesty, carving out a space for music that does more than occupy the background. With ‘Bathtub’, she delivers a bold, unvarnished narrative that resonates not just as art, but as a statement: music can confront pain, process it, and emerge stronger on the other side.
