Hazy psychedelia received a further rejuvenation last year with the release of the myriad, uber-melodic, luscious, harmony-laden self-titled La Luz album. The band’s fourth studio album received vast amounts of praise from both fans and critics alike; hot on it’s heels, La Luz have released ‘Endless Afternoon’, which will be released physically later in the year as an A-side opposite B-side ‘San Fernando Shadow Blues’.

‘Endless Afternoon’ is an ethereally burgeoning cascade of shoegaze-y guitars and the irridescent quality of the band’s incredible vocal harmonies: the new La Luz track is psychedelic tranquility epitomised (without a single trace of hyperbole).

Guitarist/vocalist Shana Cleveland describes the new track as a “California lullaby”, the melody of which came to the songwriter whilst hiking in the hills above the Yuba River.” As such, Cleveland explains, ‘Endless Afternoon’ conveys a similar serenity she perhaps felt upon the melody coming to her: that of “the sweetness found in slow days close to home.”

The Seattle group have also shared their upcoming UK/EU tour dates, following their previously announced US shows. La Luz will be supported by Nile Marr and Holiday Ghosts on these UK dates, listed below. La Luz also play two shows supporting Pearl Jam in Hyde Park on July 8th and 9th. Tickets here.
