Lamb of God and Trivium are dragging a full-scale metal avalanche across Australia this October, bringing with them Glasgow wrecking crew Bleed From Within for what already feels less like a tour announcement and more like a warning siren. From Perth through to Brisbane, the co-headline run promises the kind of arena-level violence that leaves security guards staring blankly into the middle distance by the end of the night.
For Lamb Of God, the timing feels especially significant. The Richmond groove-metal architects haven’t completed a full Australian tour in close to a decade, and the release of their latest album Into Oblivion only sharpens the sense that the band are entering yet another brutal new chapter rather than settling into legacy-act comfort. Few bands from the New Wave of American Heavy Metal era have maintained this level of intensity for this long. Songs like “Laid to Rest”, “Redneck” and “Walk With Me In Hell” still hit with the force of demolition equipment being dropped directly onto a warehouse floor, while newer material continues to sound genuinely dangerous rather than nostalgically recycled.
Their live reputation, meanwhile, borders on mythological. Whether alongside Metallica, Slayer or Slipknot, Lamb Of God have long operated like a band permanently trying to outdo the violence of the room itself. Australian crowds got a reminder of that at Knotfest Australia in 2024, where the band’s Melbourne sideshow reportedly felt like a clinic in controlled chaos.
Then there’s Trivium, a band who’ve spent the better part of two decades mutating in real time. What began as metalcore fury has steadily expanded into something stranger and more ambitious, absorbing thrash, prog, melodic death metal and arena-sized hooks without losing their edge. That constant evolution is what’s kept them relevant while many of their peers calcified into nostalgia acts. Tracks like “Betrayer” proved they could still sharpen their sound well into their career, earning a GRAMMY nomination while simultaneously feeding circle pits worldwide.
Crucially, Trivium still approach touring with the mentality of a van band despite now filling enormous rooms. Their shows thrive on precision without ever feeling sterile. Riffs arrive like machinery snapping into place, while frontman Matt Heafy continues to operate as one of modern metal’s most commanding live figures, shifting between brutal screams and soaring melody without blinking.
Opening the tour are Bleed From Within, who’ve quietly become one of the UK’s most respected heavy bands through sheer consistency and relentless touring. Their blend of metalcore grooves, breakdowns and flashes of Scottish identity gives them a distinct weight among modern heavy acts, while 2025’s Zenith only reinforced how far they’ve evolved from their deathcore beginnings.
