News: Nottingham band EYRE LLEW unveil the ethereal ‘Bloom’, title track for their new album and ahead of UK tour dates

It’s certainly easy to see why Nottingham band EYRE LLEW have been described as Britain’s answer to Sigur Rós with their new single ‘Bloom’. However, while there are clear traces in the DNA, the band has it’s own distinctive style. ‘Bloom’ has a vast cinematic sweeping sound filled with a soaring anthemic rush and rousing swells of instrumentation. It’s ethereal and spine chillingly beautiful.

The band says of the single:

‘Bloom’ is a song about choosing commitment at a moment when everything else felt uncertain. Written during lockdown, it captures the decision to jump fully into a relationship, rushing a move from Nottingham to Butetown in Cardiff, building a home together, and giving life a chance at happiness and stability over apprehension and distance.

There is an utter beauty to the lyrics that matches the sound:

Hold me like you used to [with the] warmest hello’s. Soon I’ll be around. Driving back to you in Butetown grounds. ‘Cause I feel real good and it’s all ‘cause of you. I’ll come back soon and our warmth will emit. Soon we’ll grow to light. Helping you to choose a home to call ours. Bloom! It’s spring in us now and found in number 9, Pyndyris bound.

‘Bloom’ comes with gorgeous video: mesmerising and immersive scenes of an Arctic wilderness shot from a train window, capturing a glacial chill in the music:

The single is out now and available to download and stream here.

The single is the title track from EYRE LLEW’s new album due for release on 18 September, with a nationwide UK tour happening.

Of the new album, the band says the development is rooted in change and reflection:

It’s about the moment everything slowed down and we chose something real — love, home, and growth — instead of just motion. It’s the sound of things finally taking root.

You can pre-save it here. It’s the band’s first release since their 2017 debut ‘Atelo’. In the meantime the band is currently playing a seir of live dates:

15/05 – Alt-Escape, Republic of Music Stage, Brighton *FREE ENTRY*

27/05 – Gullivers, Manchester, England (Tickets)

16/06 – The Grace, London, England (Tickets)
