News: Rila’s Edge Return With Anthemic Indie-Rock Single ‘Pimlico Road’

Berkshire’s five-piece indie-rock outfit Rila’s Edge have unleashed their latest single, ‘Pimlico Road’, an electrifying track brimming with energy, melody, and emotional depth.

Following the success of their previous single, ‘Deal‘, which garnered significant attention from BBC Radio 1, Radio X, and beyond, the new single solidifies the band’s rising reputation in the UK’s indie scene. Produced with Max Helyer of You Me At Six, alongside Jordan Timms and Max Smith from Numen Studios (collaborators of VC Pines, The Hunna, and more), the track is a shining example of Rila’s Edge’s potential to combine emotional resonance with commercial appeal.

Opening with shimmering guitar strums and urgent vocals, ‘Pimlico Road’ quickly sets a urgent and infectious tone. The song’s dynamic arrangement—bolstered by driving drums, warm bass, and euphoric distorted guitar—culminates in a powerful chorus that brings a vibrant and anthemic intensity. The clever shifts in pace and dynamics throughout the verses and the climactic final chorus showcase the quintet’s tight musicianship and knack for creating vibrant, textured soundscapes.

Ollie, the band’s frontman, shared the inspiration behind the song:

“Pimlico Road began as a voice note from my friend Rob Jones, a guitar tech for artists like Miles Kane and Sea Girls. He often sends me rough song ideas from tour buses or greenrooms, and I flesh them out into demos. For this track, I thought about how cities like London can feel magical or lonely depending on who you’re with. Inspired by Cage the Elephant and Smashing Pumpkins, we aimed for a loose, fuzzy vibe. Working with Max Helyer was surreal—his experience and energy elevated the track to new heights.”
