ROZZZQWEEN explores the uncomfortable void at the end of a relationship on the new single ‘Praise Me’.
A striking blend of alternative R&B and soul that captures the emotional push and pull of loving someone you know isn’t right for you, ‘Praise Me’ unpacks the internal battle between self-worth and attachment. Honest, vulnerable and refreshingly unfiltered, the track shines a light on a situation many people have experienced but few are willing to admit.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, ROZZZQWEEN says: “Ever been in a relationship with someone who’s just so ungrateful and wrong for you but you’d be damned if they left? This is for the people out there in terrible relationships but feel as though they can’t leave because of that little thing called love.”
It’s this willingness to confront uncomfortable truths that has become ROZZZQWEEN’s trademark. Her songwriting rarely deals in simple resolutions, instead embracing the emotional grey areas where confidence, vulnerability and self-awareness collide. On ‘Praise Me’, she examines emotional imbalance, the exhaustion of giving more than you’re receiving and the complicated way affection can keep people holding on long after they know they deserve better.
The release continues an impressive run for the Birmingham-born Afro-British artist, whose distinctive voice and fearless songwriting have attracted praise from across the industry. Following a recent collaboration, Maverick Sabre described her as “one of my favourite voices right now”, adding to support from BBC Introducing, Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt and Billboard Fresh Picks. Recently named a BBC Introducing One To Watch for 2026, ROZZZQWEEN is quickly becoming one of the UK’s most exciting emerging artists.
‘Praise Me’ also marks the latest chapter in a run of monthly releases leading up to ROZZZQWEEN’s forthcoming EP in October.
