NEWS: Technology + Teamwork announce debut album, share ‘Amsterdam’

You may remember Technology + Teamwork from a while ago. It was Sarah Jones and Anthony Silvester’s collab project – they released two singles before the thing ground to an abrupt halt. Not so much failure to launch as Jones immediately being swamped by touring drummer duties for the likes of Hot Chip and NZCA LINES. She’s even been behind the kit for Harry Styles since – not much time to focus on creating music, or so you’d think.

A sudden reappearance a couple of months ago indicated the duo had been busy behind the scenes, and it turns out ‘We Used to Be Friends’ is the title track from their debut album! That escalated quickly, and there’s more where it came from, as Jones and Silvester have shared the understated ‘Amsterdam’ as the album’s official lead single.

A friend’s daughter had a large trampoline in their small back garden, and this found its way into her art exhibition in Amsterdam. She asked if we could write some music to accompany the trampoline, ‘something full of air and silence'”, says Silvester, while Jones adds some lyrical insight: “It’s about my relationship with music and a reflection on where it once was. It was made in the place I started learning to play drums and realising the significance of that room.”

Early singles ‘The Good Way’ and ‘K + B’ are also present on the 13-track album; We Used to Be Friends arrives on their label Good Way Records on Friday March 17th 2023.
