South Coast rockers The Fever Dreams return with their latest offering, ‘Hairclip Things’, an anthemic offering following early support from BBC Introducing.
Blending classic rock-and-roll swagger with a modern edge, ‘Hairclip Things’ delivers everything fans have come to expect from the fierce five-piece: electrifying doubled-up riffs, thunderous tom fills, and commanding vocals that demand attention. Full of attitude, energy, and infectious hooks, the single proves The Fever Dreams are a band determined to keep the flame of guitar anthems burning brightly.
The band, featuring Kieron Cox on vocals, Sam James Duke on lead guitar, Sam ‘Maccers’ McDaniel on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Will Hincks on bass, and Jake Morter on drums, have built a reputation as one of the South Coast’s most exciting live acts, even earning the title of ‘the best rock and roll band on the South Coast’.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Hairclip Things’, the band explain:
“‘Hairclip Things’ started as a bouncy blues riff that Duke and Kieron decided to develop into an upbeat, tongue-in-cheek take on a breakup song. During the writing process, the guys couldn’t remember what bobby pins were called, and Kieron’s brother just kept calling them ‘Hairclip Things’ – so the name stuck!”
Having been championed by Voice FM and reaching the number one spot on the 100th South Coast Music Charts, The Fever Dreams’ momentum continues to build. Their explosive live performances have already taken them to iconic venues including Dublin Castle in Camden and Half Moon Putney, with the band now setting their sights firmly on a wider UK takeover.
Built on years of friendship, shared passion, and a love for unapologetic rock music, The Fever Dreams are ready for their next chapter. Their hometown will be the launchpad as they headline Southampton’s Papillon on August 1st, 2026, a milestone moment for a band with ambitions to bring their high-voltage sound to audiences across the country.
With ‘Hairclip Things’, The Fever Dreams aren’t just reviving rock, they’re proving it still has plenty of fire left.
