British indie-pop favourites The Lottery Winners are heading back Down Under, announcing an Australian and New Zealand headline tour for April 2027 following their stadium run supporting Robbie Williams.
The four-piece from Leigh, Greater Manchester, have enjoyed a remarkable rise, transforming themselves from local hopefuls into UK chart-toppers with two consecutive Number 1 albums and an increasingly formidable live reputation.
Their latest album, KOKO, debuted at the top of the UK charts, shifting more than 23,500 copies in its first week. The record features an unlikely but impressive collection of collaborators, including Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, Frank Turner, Reverend and the Makers and Shed Seven.
It follows 2023’s Anxiety Replacement Therapy, another UK Number 1 that featured Shaun Ryder, Boy George and Frank Turner. With their knack for infectious hooks, sharp humour and big singalong choruses, The Lottery Winners have carved out a place in Britain’s crowded indie landscape.
Their ascent has been anything but quiet. They’ve headlined their hometown’s 15,000-capacity LSV Stadium, toured stadiums with Robbie Williams and shared stages with everyone from Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller to Avril Lavigne, Morrissey and Nickelback.
Festival appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Latitude have further expanded their audience, while performances at SXSW in Austin and Sydney have helped introduce the band to international crowds.
Now Australian fans get the chance to catch them in more intimate surroundings.
The tour kicks off at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel on 18 April before heading to Adelaide, Sydney’s Manning Bar on 22 April, Melbourne and Brisbane. The band then crosses the Tasman for shows in Auckland and Christchurch.
After conquering the UK charts and playing to stadium-sized crowds, The Lottery Winners are swapping the big stages for sweaty bandrooms. For Australian fans, that’s a pretty good result.
