Scottish newcomers YABBA have today released their debut single ‘GET BY’ via Nice Swan Records. The 5-piece have produced a track impossible to ignore. The opening is dominated by screeching guitars and a pounding drum beat before the distorted vocals are layered in. It’s an assault on the senses, challenging, almost dangerous and confrontational – but isn’t that whay culture is all about, perhaps making you feel uncomfortable as well as being entertained. YABBA opened for dates on Enola Gay’s headline UK tour and immediately made an impression on the crowd.
Speaking ahead of their debut release, YABBA revealed:
“‘GET BY’ can be used as much like C4 is used to blast the doors off a bank. The song carries the same burden shared with the common people in the UK. ‘GET BY’ is the theme song Stone Cold Steve Austin wished he had. ‘GET BY’ is not for nerds. We heard only hot people like ‘GET BY’. ‘GET BY’ was written in one of the last prison houses in Scotland. It’s BIG MUSIC, once you hear it, you’ll never be the same.”
