Premiere: Red Snapper remixes Amine Mesnaoui & Labelle‘s Krazé Muneataf Tanzen; hear it here, first

We’ve already premiered a video from Berlin and Réunion based duo Amine Mesnaoui & Labelle debut album African Prayers right here on Backseat Mafia and recently covered Red Snappers live show in Sheffield, somwhat better way to folkow both than premiering the latters remix of the track ‘Krazé Muneataf Tanzen’ this morning, out via Lo Recordings

On the track, Anime muses ‘Krazé Muneataf Tanzen’ is above all a moment of trance. All the colors of the ritual come together here to offer an apotheosis to the listener. “Krazé” is a kind of summary of the album and is also a tribute to the mythical Berlin club Tresor.’

Rich Thair from Red Snapper continues ”As soon as we heard the album we wanted to reinterpret one of the tracks. ‘Krazé…’ was an obvious choice, it has a mesmerising, dark, percussive build that is relentless. We added our own live double bass bowing and plucking; and extra live and electronic drums which we felt added to the intensity of the original. This was one of those reworks that just came together really naturally. The musicianship in the original is unique and outstanding; it was a pleasure and an honour to work on it.As a result of working on ‘Krazé…’ we asked Amine to play piano on ‘Travis Bickle’ from our forthcoming album Everybody is Somebody [Released May 29th 2022] and he did a sterling job”

The remix is pulsating, while still being deep, rich and varied, with Red Snappers sprawling percussive signature wrapped tightly around. its brilliant stuff.
