Now a multi-award winner following awards at both Unsigned Only 2022 International Songwriting Competition and the NREA Music Awards 2022, Rheo Uno is back with the stunning new single ‘Don’t Wanna Be In Love’. We’re very excited to be running the premiere!

Dance-pop at it’s best, ‘Don’t Wanna Be In Love’ creates an infectious, soulful dance-pop vibe right from the off with a 90’s infused piano line underpinned by a pulsing, side-chained bass line. Rheo’s silky, slightly husky yet effortlessly note perfect and controlled lead vocal soon enters as she delivers heartfelt lyricism tracing through the breakdown in a relationship.

Quickly building through sections, a dance beat soon enters picking up the track’s energy before the insatiably catchy chorus kicks in. Adorned with a bouncy, funk-tinted bass line and layers of strings, the Dua Lipa-esque likability of ‘Don’t Wanna Be In Love’ shines bright from the chorus onwards – the perfect blend of danceability, ear-worm vocal lines and lyrical relatability.

Talking about the meaning behind the single and how she has found her musical identity, Rheo shares: “It’s about breaking free and living your best life, escaping a controlling partner and being true to yourself.

For the first time, I can actually say I am happy with my sound, it’s who I am, not who I think I should be. I think this new sound I’ve been working on is bouncy and fresh, the fact I can sit and listen to myself on repeat is unheard of so it’s safe to say I’m loving the way these new tracks are sounding.”

A pinpoint perfect pop track more than worthy of commercial success, the pinpoint production (courtesy of DJ Tom Enzy) and faultless songwriter (written by Uno in collaboration with Charles Drew and Amira Eldine) are evident right from the off on ‘Don’t Wanna Be In Love’. With widespread acclaim already coming her way, Rheo Uno is definitely a talent to keep your eye on. Expect to see her in the charts sooner rather than later.
