Premiere: The Ella Sisters – Miss The Most

Norwegian duo The Ella Sisters, in reality Kristanstad based twin sisters Maren and Charlotte, are gearing up for the release of their debut EP ‘Queens’, out on August 28th. Ahead of it, they’ve released a new track from it, Miss The Most, which we’re delighted to premiere right here on Backseat Mafia today.

Of the track, the girls say “This song expresses the feeling of losing someone who isn’t good for you, and realising that the things you miss are actually everything around them. It is an honest and raw glimpse into the realisation that you sometimes have to let go of the beautiful things in a relation, to be able to let go of the painful ones.”

Miss the Most is this emotive slice of smart alt (indie) pop, with the girls beautiful harmonies draped over this wrung out melancholy melody. Underneath there’s these gluey synths and a spattering of bands and beats. Throw in some electronic hue, a few extra harmonies and stories of lost love, and you’ve got something rather brilliant. If you can get through it without biting your lip, then you’re feels aren’t wired up right.

I may have something in my eye…..
