Control of the Going are an eclipse formed of surreal psychedelia with smatterings of rock and roll who have emerged from a city with music bursting from every seam, Manchester. With simulating live performances garnering them much attention, they have pushed their heads above the parapet and are being tipped as one of the cities best new acts.
They are comprised of brothers Liam and Ashley Hart on guitars and vocals, Stephen Ackley also on guitar, Matt Byrne and Tom Sillitoe provide the rhythm section on drums and bass respectively and they are completed by Minesh Mistry on synth.
Formed in July 2015 they have already been featured on Real Radio XS, Amazing Radio and the world renowned KEXP.
‘She’ is their debut single, released on exciting new label Wrong Way Records on limited edition numbered vinyl. The uplifting track is one for fans of Brian Jonestown Massacre with its buoyant rhythm guitars and a musical complexity which strikes as the sound of a band much more experienced than 18 months. Swirling synth captivates whilst the sound is driven by the force of the drumming and throbbing bass line. The track has a real vibrancy within which radiates energy and cannot fail to entice.
If the lads were hoping to make a mark for themselves, ‘She’ seems to be entirely the right way to do it.
