Leeds five-piece Apollo Junction may be new on the horizon (to me at least) but their new single ‘On The Ropes’ has all the hallmarks of a seasoned and experienced indie band with attitude and poise.
The single slams along at a heady pace with a glam stomp, electronic-spined throb and sky-high choruses – really quite a thrilling ride:
The message is one of positive defiance in troubled times, and the energy and style shines out. Apollo Junction have all the essential ingredients of cool attitude and song-writing craft that combine to herald something very tasty indeed.
Such optimism indeed with a live gigs schedule for the band with a festival appearance in May (After All Festival), supports for The Kaiser Chiefs in July, as well as a headlining gig in November (details here). Here’s hoping to a return to a modicum of normality by then, as well as more music from this band.
