Good news, people. It’s little over a week until the release of the new Ash album Race the Night comes out on one of their earliest labels, Fierce Panda.

Ahead of that, the band have released a further delve into what’s in store on the record with a new single, Crashed out Wasted. About this latest track, Wheeler says: “Crashed Out Wasted is an ode to one of those nights. You may be the last one standing, or wobbling, but you aren’t ready to end it just yet. You’re drunk dialing, and shit posting, looking for a partner in Dionysian crime. Before you know it you’re crashing down the stairs, your mind is gone, and that’s when THE BAD THING HAPPENS…”

Crashed Out Wasted is largely stripped back Ash, rather than the pop punk we all so love, but despite that there’s enough to make your heart burst and your feet jump with this drop dead gorgeous melody and seemingly infinitely endless build up in the middle before finally we get a proper Ash drop, the payoff being an extended (and rather wonderful) guitar solo

Race The Night is available across gatefold vinyl, CD, cassette and ltd edition vinyl formats. A limited-edition Amazon exclusive CD with an extended version of recent single ‘Like A God’, packaged with alternative artwork, can be pre-ordered here.
