Becca Hatch has unveiled her latest single, ‘Daylight Robbery’, a dramatic and emotionally charged release that finds the Kamilaroi/Samoan artist transforming heartbreak into something both intoxicating and impossible to shake.
Written with Patrick Byrne (Beso Palma), and mixed by Cam Parkin, the track blends R&B, electronic textures and pop sensibilities while exploring the lingering pull of a relationship that logic says should be left behind. It follows the breakout success of ‘Garden (Bang Goes The Drum)’ and further highlights Hatch’s ability to pair deeply personal storytelling with ambitious production.

“Daylight Robbery is about a love that leaves an imprint on you,” Hatch explains. “The song lives in that tension of knowing someone has the power to hurt you, but still feeling drawn to them anyway. There’s something addictive about connections like that and I wanted ‘Daylight Robbery’ to feel emotional, dramatic and a little reckless.”
Already a NIMA Award winner, multiple ARIA nominee and recipient of the 2025 APRA Professional Development Award, Hatch has steadily emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting contemporary voices. Following memorable performances alongside Coldplay, Tinashe and Mahalia, ‘Daylight Robbery’ is another compelling step forward.
