Ocean Sleeper have announced their long-awaited second album, Peace When I’m Dead, with the Gippsland metalcore outfit set to release the record globally on August 21 via BMG Australia and Rise Records.
Alongside the album announcement, the band have unveiled its title track, an emotionally charged follow-up to comeback single ‘Break The Cycle’. Accompanied by a powerful video from Freeman Films, ‘Peace When I’m Dead’ finds the Victorian four-piece confronting grief, depression and inner turmoil with a sense of catharsis that has become central to their identity.
“This band has never been afraid to dive into the darker parts of our lives,” says vocalist Karl Spiessl. “At its core, the record explores the ongoing battle we have with ourselves. It’s about learning to accept that reality.”
Written across Melbourne, Los Angeles and Portland, and mixed and mastered by Jeff Dunne (Knocked Loose, Disturbed, Make Them Suffer), the album sees Ocean Sleeper continue to expand their sound while remaining rooted in the emotional intensity that has earned them a devoted global following.
The release follows the success of ‘Break The Cycle’, which has already amassed more than 200,000 Spotify streams and secured rotation on SiriusXM stations Octane and Liquid Metal in the US.
Ocean Sleeper will celebrate the album with their biggest Australian headline run to date this September, including shows at Sydney’s Liberty Hall, Brisbane’s Princess Theatre, Perth’s Magnet House, Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall and Melbourne’s Forum. The dates form part of an ambitious worldwide itinerary that will see the band play 82 shows through to February 2027.
