Cassowary, aka 25 year old multi-instrumentalist Mike Shannon, releases his self titled debut album on the Fat Possum label on April 24th. He’s just released the third single ahead of the release, in the shape of Moth.
Moth is this sort of fusion-jazz, taking in these repeated patterns from the synth/rhythm section that gives it this sort of hypnotic feeling. Over the top are built these increasingly complex, flitting and extending synth lead/Saxophone lines. It’s clever, complicated but rewarding music.
