Track: Chalk – Asking

Belfast post-punk trio Chalk have announced their debut EP ‘Conditions’, is set for release on the 5th of May. Along with the announcement the band have shared their brand new single ‘Asking’.

Singer Ross Cullen comments:

“It’s a reaction to feelings of ours that look at the past and a longing for others who aren’t in your life anymore. How we grow as people and those we leave behind as a result. We wanted “Asking” to follow the recollection of someone whose memories are fading when trying to remember about someone in the past”.

Striking, dark and utterly brilliant. Cullen’s deep almost hypnotic vocals sit against the spiky guitars and electronic static that dominates the track when Cullen takes a step back. It’s time to sit up and take notice of these guys.
