Track: Dope Lemon sinks its teeth into sweet soul on new single ‘Rose Pink Cadillac’

Following on from recent single Kids Fallin In Love and Every Day Is A Holiday (with Winston Surfshirt) come more cruisy coastal sounds from Dope Lemon, in the form of new track Rose Pink Cadillac. Sounding like a sunny 60s soul standard, the song invokes a retro vibe but makes it modern, with sassy guitar riffs and Angus Stone’s smooth, understated vocals.

The song’s video features the winged Cadillac of the song’s title, as well as softly lit go-go dancing vampires and a little rose-pink blood-letting. All (random) elements seem to work in conveying the song’s fabulously, slightly seamy vibe.

Dope Lemon (aka Angus Stone) has amassed over 350 million streams from his two widely acclaimed albums, Smooth Big Cat (2019) which came in at #2 on the ARIA Album charts, and Honey Bones (2016), as well as the 2017 Hounds Tooth EP. The release of Honey Bones was an instant-classic and saw Dope Lemon become not just a melting curio of artistic experimentation, but a fully-fledged cultural phenomenon.

Performances of note include Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Groovin’ The Moo, Yours and Owls, Fairgrounds, as well as sold out headline tours both nationally and internationally. Coming up on 4 July will be a huge Dope Lemon performance at the Winter in the Domain concert series in Sydney.
