Body Meat is the project of Salt Lake City born producer Christopher Taylor, a man who’s father once played Conga’s for Earth, Wind and Fire, so who has been surrounded by music, and in particular rhythm, his whole life. He’s just released a new single The Well, and it’s a genuinely interesting and ingenious piece of wonky pop.
Full of flourishing chords and scattered beat (really scattered mind – across beats and bars and changes), he adds shards of electronic sound and saxophones as its jerks and jolts all over the place. In contrast Taylor lays down a perfectly lovely slice of vocal electronic soul over the top.
