Track: En Attendant Ana – In/Out


French popsters En Attendant Ana have released an absolutely loveable low-fi romp of a single ‘In/Out’: an effervescent joy infused with a sense of wonder and innocence yet imbued with a degree of melancholia. The video – a rough hewn Super-8 delight filmed in Belgian, delightfully captures the carefree sense of the song:

Of the song, primary lyricist & front person Margaux Bouchaudon says:

“I tend to consider it as a journey towards acceptation of losses (would they be friends, lovers or dreams through death, departure or disillusion…) but also towards self respect and independence.”

It’s utterly delightful – slightly shambolic, psych-infused and very cool with a genetic root of C86-era bands like The Sundays or shoegaze-era dream pop.
