Finnish rising solo artist Louie Blue makes a triumphant return with the elegant and beautiful new single Diamond.
Built around a warming sound pallet of 80s infused guitar and synth tones, minimal beats and elegant atmospherics, the track is both radiantly catchy and commercially viable whilst retaining some captivating musicality and emotive depth. As comparable to Westerman as it is to the likes of JC Stewart, the track is an absolute alternative-pop gem that floats between its alternative edge and radiant pop hooks.
After stepping away from the spotlight to hone his craft, Louie Blue dedicated his hiatus to personal and artistic growth, even building his own recording studio to achieve a more authentic sound. Diamond is a testament to that evolution—entirely composed, written, arranged, produced, and mixed by the artist himself, with mastering by Aleksis Raivio.
“When creating music, I start from a place of solitude where I confront my own truths and craft art that challenges the superficiality of modern pop,” Louie Blue shares. “During my break, I also focused on expanding my musical abilities, learning new instruments essential for bringing my vision to life.”
The release is accompanied by a striking black-and-white music video that perfectly complements the track’s retro influences. With dramatic lighting and vintage film techniques, the visual aesthetic pays homage to the groundbreaking music videos of early MTV, blending nostalgia with a contemporary edge. The stark monochrome and purposeful cinematography reinforce the song’s depth, making Diamond both a sonic and visual statement.
