Fontaines D.C. have just released a new video for the track ‘Marianne’ which comes off their forthcoming album ‘Dopamine Chamber’, due out on 16 October via XL Recordings

‘Marianne’ is a tight wound and enigmatic track that seems to continue where the band left off in their brilliant album ‘Romance’ – expanding and developing their sound while still centering around singer Grian Chatten unique delivery. Guitars have moved back in the mix while a muffled pounding sound gives an ominous feel, augmented by the lyrics:

This year
You should come and stay here
You can follow my lead
I can help you disappear
Cinematic feeling
Understand this is your life
You can go on dreaming
You can go under the knife
Marianne

The video is as mysterious and enthralling:

You can download and stream the single here.

You can pre-order the album here and the tracklist has just been released:

  1. Six Shot Morning
  2. Marianne
  3. Mimesis
  4. Happy For You
  5. Demolition
  6. Tongue
  7. One Man
  8. Where Is Gone? (with ROSALÍA)
  9. You Miss Me
  10. Japan
  11. Intimate

Chatten says:

The album itself is a dopamine chamber. You step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you.

The album was made between London, the English countryside and Palermo, where Chatten recorded vocals in a makeshift booth built from mattresses and cushions. Chatten says:

There’s a poignant sense of us being on the brink of some other kind of form of humanity, or non-humanity.

2027 will see the band performing huge outdoor and stadium shows. These include two nights at Ireland’s legendary Slane Castle (26th and 27th June), Blackweir Fields, Cardiff (29th June), St James’ Park, Newcastle (1st July), Heaton Park, Manchester (3rd and 4th July), Glasgow Green (6th July) and London Stadium (9.th July). For further details head to here.
