Frankie and the Witch Fingers come out swinging with “Total Reset”, an adrenalized burst of psych-punk chaos that’s as catchy as it is unhinged. It hits like a jolt to the system—blasting guitar riffs, synth freakouts, and a breakdown that practically begs for a sweaty, full-throated singalong. The track balances raw punk energy with a kind of intergalactic weirdness, thanks to its off-kilter electronic interjections that make everything feel just a little untethered from reality.
“Total Reset is a spasmodic blast of punk and synth freakery, a tech product launch for the post-human era,” the band says. “Writing and recording a song can be such a hassle, so we let AI handle it this time (faster, cheaper, zero complaints). It spat out a nice little doomsday ditty: humanity is toast, a lucky few will be spared to reboot civilization. Weirdly enough, the song kind of rips, so maybe we don’t need humans to make things after all.”
And they’re not wrong—“Total Reset” rips hard. Melodic, manic, and memorably wild, it’s a searing preview of forthcoming album Trash Classic (June 6th) and a strong contender for one of the most thrilling punk tracks of the year.
