Track: Glass Museum – Abyss

Glass Museum, aka Brussels musicians Antoine Flipo (synths) and Martin Grégoire (drums), are gearing up for the release of their sophomore album ‘Rekjavik’ this Friday (March 27th) via Sdban Ultra. Mixing up The elements behind electronic music with Jazz and using orchestral instruments, the pair make music akin to the likes of Jon Hopkins, Gogo Penguin et al.

Abyss, the latest track to be released from the record, shows all these elements – the repetitive figures that mould and morph and the stabbing synth lines sit alongside moments of improvised keys and a wash of colour with the changin instrumentation. It builds and swirls to slowly throughout, the melancholy of the tune being overtaken by the whirling, whipped up instrumentation to a close that makes you breathless.
