The Lanegan brand has always stood for quality for me and the man is back and still delivering. Skeleton Key is the first single from his new solo album – Straight Songs Of Sorrow due 8th May. Just over a week from the release of his memoir – Sing Backwards and Weep on 28th April.
Commenting on writing his memoir Lanegan stated “I started writing these songs the minute I was done, and I realised there was a depth of emotion because they were all linked to memories from this book”
Skeleton Key sets the mood and and is trademark Lanegan of the bluesy variety. 7 minutes of loss and suffering told in his trademark voice full of whiskey and gravel.
