Produced once again by Grammy-winning collaborator Will Yip, whose credits include Turnstile, Title Fight and Circa Survive, Happier Now marks a return to familiar territory for the Orange County quartet. The album follows a period of steady growth that has seen Movements transition from rising stars to one of the more established names within modern post-hardcore.
New track ‘Everything Is Fine’ highlights another side of the band’s songwriting. While Movements have built their reputation on angular guitars and emotionally charged intensity, the song leans into melody and atmosphere, pairing its memorable chorus with lyrics that explore anxiety and uncertainty. The contrast between its title and its underlying themes reflects the introspective qualities that have long been central to the band’s appeal.
The record’s earliest sessions also yielded previous singles ‘Dissolve Me’ and ‘Back In My Ways’, songs that ultimately helped shape the direction of the album. Together, they point towards a release that aims to bridge the gap between the emotional immediacy of Movements’ earlier work and the broader sonic palette they have developed in recent years.
The announcement arrives shortly after the band completed a national Australian tour supporting Pierce The Veil on their sold-out arena run. With appearances on the revived Warped Tour also on the horizon, Happier Now finds Movements reflecting on how far they have come while continuing to refine the sound that first connected them with audiences nearly a decade ago.
