Vancouver duo Potatohead People, aka Nick Wisdom and Astrologica, herald the arrival of their album Nick & Astro’s Guide To The Galaxy, wout May 11th via Bastard Jazz, with a 7″ comprising of two of the albums tracks – Do My Thing and Returning the Flavour. It sees them teaming up again with Illa J, brother of J Dilla alongside Kapok for Do My Thing, this laid back funk groove, full of splashes of synth and chewy funk guitar lines over these rhymes and soul filled vocals about, well…..doing his thing. On the flip Trian Kayhatu joins the pair, flexing his considerable synth/keys chops on this stuttering hip-Hop/R&B instrumental as it plasters these jazz licks over a suitably warm and slightly sleazy backing.
