Detroit post-punks Protomartyr have announced their fifth album, Ultimate Success Today, is to be released on May 29th via Domino, and have streamed a new single ‘Processed by the Boys’ taken from it.
It’s has a certain warmth in amongst its slightly angular outlook, built on a repeating, but engaging, guitar riff, with the gruff vocals over the top just giving it that bit of edge. The addition of the Saxophone to the mix just gives it this slightly syrupy feel. Add to that a chorus which leaves this luscious taste in the mouth, and it all makes for something that’s actually rather fantastic.
