Track: Rosetta Stone give (Don’t Fear) The Reaper a gothic makeover

Goth survivors Rosetta Stone’s latest single, a cover of Blue Öyster Cult’s (Don’t Fear) The Reaper, reimagines the 1976 classic through a long black overcoat and dark eyeshadow. While the song has seen various renditions over the years, including notable versions by Heaven 17 and the Goo Goo Dolls, Rosetta Stone’s take stands out for its dark, atmospheric approach. The track is enveloped in a shadowy ambiance, with echoing spaces that lend it a haunting quality. Frontman Porl King’s baritone vocals add a haunting presence to the track.

This cover serves as the opening track on Rosetta Stone’s forthcoming album, Nothing Is Sacred, set to release on February 14, 2025. The album features an eclectic mix of covers, including Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’, The Beatles ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’, and Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain, all reinterpreted with the through a gothic lens.
