The Kid and I, are an alternative rock band hailing from the UK led by the multi-talented actor-musician Jacob Powell. What began as a solo project during the lockdown, quickly evolved into a full-fledged dream for Jacob Powell – to form his very own band.
In February 2022, that dream turned into a reality, and The Kid and I were born. With their debut EP due to be released later this year the band have shared the single ‘Wonder Pt 1’
Powell comments:
“Wonder Pt 1 is about grief and the damaging effects it has years after the event itself takes place and finding the strength to reach out and ask for help during it.”
Striking vocals over melodic shimmering chords that lead to explosive moments and a soaring chorus all wrapped in a beautifully crafted package. Minimalistic in its approach, it’s an accomplished track thats brimming with promise and an exciting glimpse into what else the band have to share.
